Mental health disorders
We prefer to work with individuals rather than unhelpful labels. But sometimes those labels are important for accessing supports.
If you need proof that you have a specific mental health condition, we can conduct an assessment. This service is typically used by individuals looking to access specific care or to request workplace accommodations.
Conditions we assess
- Major Depressive Disorder
- Panic Disorder
- Social Anxiety Disorder
- Specific Phobia
- Generalised Anxiety Disorder
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Anorexia Nervosa
- Bulimia Nervosa
- Binge Eating Disorder
- Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
How does the process work?
You will meet with your psychologist and discuss your experiences. You will have the chance to talk about what brought you here, but there is also a formal assessment in which your psychologist will ask you specific questions and make notes.
After the meeting, your psychologist will write up a report and invite you to schedule a follow-up meeting to discuss the results.
What are the potential outcomes?
We may conclude you meet the criteria for the specific disorder and give you a diagnosis. We may conclude you do not meet the criteria. Regardless of the outcome, we can signpost you to further support.
Eligibility
You must be 18 years old or older.
You must be able to communicate verbally in English.
Location
Testing takes place in-person in Leeds. Follow-up meetings can be in person or online.
